I am a licensed clinician with over 20 years of psychotherapeutic experience. I provide a safe, gentle, and nonjudgmental space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to reduce symptoms and improve the client's overall level of functioning. I am committed to providing my clients with a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes healing and recovery.
The primary objective of psychotherapy is to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety that are associated with various life stressors. I seek to help my clients improve coping skills to better manage the impact of relationship and family conflict, loss/grief, work-related stress, trauma, chronic pain, and financial concerns. Although I mostly work with adults, I have vast experience with individuals of all ages.
I have specialized training in a variety of areas, including child, adolescent, and family therapy, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and parenting. Over the last 15 years at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, I have led groups that focused on reducing symptoms related to generalized anxiety, phobias, panic, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and postpartum depression/anxiety. I also facilitated children and adolescent groups teaching coping and social skills and psychoeducational groups for parents.
Additionally, I have over 15 years of experience teaching and supervising psychology interns in an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship program.
Treatments for:
My love and dedication to assisting others in thriving and leading fulfilling lives have brought me to the field of psychology. Strong interpersonal ties and a good self-image support both mental and physical well-being. I strongly value compassion and integrity. My primary objective is to focus on the development of resilience and adaptive coping skills that will support clients as they navigate life's, often unexpected, challenges.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, considering the physical, emotional, and social factors that can impact mental health. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), person-centered therapy (Rogerian Therapy), and mindfulness to assist clients in reaching their treatment goals. Psychotherapy will involve identifying maladaptive patterns of behavior and distorted thinking styles. The client will learn how to recognize their strengths and their resilience to achieve and sustain desired change. The therapeutic alliance and empathic approach will empower and motivate clients to fulfill their potential.
